Welcome to the Architectural and Design Excellence in the South East Awards which are the only awards of their kind which focus on a regional area and promote and reward outstanding design in buildings, landscapes and other structures within that region.
Growing in popularity and success every year and celebrating four years in 2009, the Awards recognize examples of architectural and design excellence comprising concerns as varied as urban design, housing, streetscapes, community improvement and development, restoration, reuse, and conservation, as well as landscaping and environmental issues. The Awards emphasise architecture that not only provides for people's physical, social, and economic needs, but that also stimulates and responds to their cultural and environmental expectations.
Encompassing the ten municipalities of Bayside, Bass Coast , Cardinia, Casey, Frankston, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Kingston, Mornington Peninsula and Port Phillip the Awards encircle the eastern coast of Port Phillip Bay and provide the potential for exposure to a varied range of stakeholders and into a diverse range of municipalities.
Winners of the Awards were announced at a gala event at the McClelland Galley and Sculpture park on the 26th March 2009.
